Last Saturday I was in Edinburgh to see 3 shows as part of the Edinburgh Festival………
Bianco by NoFit State Circus – this has to be one of the best aerial acrobatic circus shows I’ve seen at the festival. The visuals and the skills from the performers, especially the rope movements were excellent. So good I might even go back to see it again.
BLAM the show – This is a Danish production, but there was little dialogue, so language wasn’t an issue. It was a funny play…. very slapstick like. ”To escape their tedious 9-to-5 jobs, four ingenious office workers invent BLAM! – an imaginary game where ordinary life is put through the shredder“. The actors were great, and the stage effects were rather clever.
Frank Sanazi- This show was recommended to me last year, but I wasn’t able to see it then, so I was determined to catch it this time round. Frank Sanazi is basically a mixture of Adolf Hitler and Frank Sinatra…… who performs Sinatra songs in the style of Adolf and the Nazi’s…… no doubt some people would be offended, but hey, I thought it was amusing. There were a few extra performers i.e. Anne Frank doing a cover of Amy Winehouses’s
Valerie Diary….. and Nancy Sinatra with Jack Boots Are Made For Walking……. you had to be there…. Since I’ve always had an interest in WW2 it was a good night….
